Vanessa Fernandez Wallace, Edinburgh-based creative.
I've had a passion for creating since I popped out the womb. I was stealing my dad's Kodak camera at three years old, painting as much as I could, even styling my Barbie's new clothes out of wet wipes.
In Highschool I was a straight-A student disappointing my teachers by refusing to take any subjects that weren't artsy. During lockdown, I was Yearbook Chairperson, and with nothing but infinite freetime I curated a 52 page spread solo with my haphazard self-taught Indesign skills. At the same time I'd also been running my own "aesthetic" photography Instagram account, which at its peak amassed 2k+ followers.
Following this, I decided to study BA (Hons) Photography at Edinburgh Napier University. This lead to me exhibiting at Whitespace, at the Napier degree show, and at Free Range London. I wrote a dissertation on the effects of AI generated imagery in crime & court, then graduted with a 2:1 in October 2025.
Now I'm currently focusing on MSc Creative Advertising, whilst working on social-media focused creations for Feed Us Up CIC and local musician Robyn Elliot. Looking for internships/paid work in similiar social-media focused or art direction fields.
